Young people who are Looked After deserve these opportunities too.

At Our Place Schools we believe that a young person who feels safe and secure is a successful one. We are committed to providing our young people with a place of safety and security, where their individual needs are met, and they are seen and valued as the unique and wonderful young people they are.

Education Review Board

The role of the ERB is to provide strategic management, and to act as impartial support for the work of the head of education and other school staff. They meet and be reported to on a regular basis and assess progress and performance on both a whole school and individual pupil basis.

The School Year

The school year runs with a 4 week summer break, extending the autumn and summer half term breaks to two weeks each.

The intention is to facilitate family holidays whilst shortening the terms to more acceptable levels for children and young people with learning disabilities.

However, the breaks still have a consistent structure and activities for the children and young people to enjoy. All family birthdays are recognised so that the children and young people keep up to date with their family.

We also make sure that the children and young people have a birthday celebration that suits their personal preferences, for example, a meal out or a party and disco.
